Marital Agreements and Cohabitation Agreements

Swiss marriage law recognises three different marital property regimes: participation in acquired property, community of property and separation of property. Each of these regimes can be structured by spouses in different ways. We will be happy to provide you with comprehensive support and advice here in order to find a solution that meets your specific needs.

Couples in a registered partnership have the option of including in asset agreements special stipulations that would apply in the event of the dissolution of the partnership. We will be happy to help you draw up an asset agreement that meets your needs.

Couples who live together and have children can potentially face many legal issues that are by far not as clear-cut as the statutory child-support requirement, for example. The problem here is that unlike marriage law, regulations on cohabitation are not all-encompassing and many things remain unclear.
